Properties: White, a slight smell of ammonia Crystalline powder or granules.
Non-toxic. Soluble in water, aqueous solution is alkaline,
insoluble in ethanol.
Applications: Ammonium bicarbonate is used in food industry as fermentation and
leavening agent for making bread, puff pastries, flat breads,
crackers, and cookies. It is considered to be a good leavening
agent as it decomposes at a temperature less than 60 0C, and
therefore does not give any unpleasant taste of ammonia, and thus,
gives good taste to the food products.
Package and storage: Plastic-woven or kraft paper outer bag with polythene inner bag,
net weight per bag is 25kg. Keep in dry and windy conditions.
